meet the founder
hi! I'm anna, the founder of cherry.
i started cherry because i couldn’t wrap my head around something:
how could there not be a product — or a brand — built for the overlap between periods and intimacy?
so, i started it.
we design period care for intimacy.
because women deserve options, not workarounds.
xo,

what is the cherry disc?
The Cherry Disc is a soft, disposable menstrual disc intended for clean, confident intimacy during your period.
Unlike tampons or cups, the disc sits higher in the vaginal fornix (the natural space just below the cervix), where it collects menstrual fluid rather than absorbing it. That placement is what allows it to be worn comfortably during all types of sex (penetrative, oral, solo, partnered, you name it!)
It’s made from medical-grade, body-safe materials and designed to feel barely there, especially during intimacy.
can you have sex while wearing it?
Yes, yes, yes!
The Cherry Disc is intended to be worn during penetrative vaginal sex.
Because of where it sits in the body, it doesn’t block the vaginal canal the way a tampon or cup does. That means you can be intimate without removing it, and without the mess most people associate with period sex.
will it leak?
When inserted correctly, leakage is minimal to none for most users.
That said, bodies are different. Factors like flow heaviness, positioning, and movement can matter. The disc is designed to hold menstrual fluid securely, but we’re transparent: no menstrual product is 100% leak-proof in every scenario.
Many users choose to pair Cherry with a towel or dark sheets when they try it for the first time. Once you get the hang of it, no need for an extra layer on the bed ;)
will my partner feel it?
In most cases, no (or only very minimally).
We've worked with OBGYNs and medical experts who explain that because the disc sits high and flat behind the pubic bone, most partners don’t feel it during sex. If they do, it’s usually described as a slight firmness, not discomfort.
If either partner feels discomfort, we recommend stopping and removing the disc.
is it safe?
Yes. The Cherry Disc is designed with safety and comfort first.
Cherry discs are made from 100% medical-grade silicone
It is biocompatible, and free of BPA, Latex & toxins
FDA registered & compliant
Vegan & cruelty free
No suction, unlike menstrual cups
Designed to work with your anatomy, not against it
OBGYNs we’ve consulted confirm that our menstrual discs are a safe option for most people, including those with IUDs (since there’s no suction involved).
If you have a specific medical condition or concerns, we always recommend checking with your healthcare provider.
can i use cherry with a condom?
Yes. Cherry can be used with condoms.
The disc sits high behind the pubic bone, while condoms are worn externally on a partner — so they don’t interfere with each other. Using Cherry with a condom is safe and does not reduce the effectiveness of either when used correctly.
As always, condoms are still recommended for STI protection and pregnancy prevention if those are concerns for you.
can i use a condom with it?
Yes, and many people do.
Cherry is compatible with water-based and oil-based lubricants. If you’re using lube during sex, just avoid silicone-based lubricants.
Because Cherry is made from medical-grade silicone, silicone-based lube can break down the material over time and compromise the product.
Quick rule of thumb:
✔ Water-based lube = yes
✔ Oil-based lube = yes
✖ Silicone-based lube = skip it
When in doubt, check the lube label or choose water-based to keep things simple.
how long can i wear it?
You can wear the Cherry Disc for up to 12 hours, depending on your flow.
This aligns with our OBGYN guidance and allows flexibility whether you’re wearing it during the day, overnight, or during intimacy.
is it reusable?
No. The Cherry Disc is disposable by design.
We chose disposable intentionally to prioritize:
Hygiene
Convenience
No cleaning or reinsertion during intimate moments
Each disc is single-use and individually wrapped.
That said, this is our first product... we're just getting started!
can it cause UTIs or infections?
When used as directed, the Cherry Disc does not increase the risk of UTIs or vaginal infections.
OBGYN guidance emphasizes:
UTIs are caused by bacteria entering the urinary tract, not by menstrual products themselves
Proper hand hygiene before insertion and removal is key
Discs do not disrupt vaginal pH when worn within recommended time limits
If you’re prone to UTIs, we recommend:
Washing hands before insertion/removal (duh)
Removing the disc within the recommended time window (duh)
Peeing after sex (always a good idea)
As always, if you notice irritation or discomfort, discontinue use and consult your provider.
is it messy to remove?
It can be slightly messy — and that’s normal.
The disc collects fluid, so removal is best done over a toilet or in the shower. We designed Cherry knowing that removal doesn’t need to be sexy. It just needs to be easy and predictable.
Most users find that with a little practice, removal becomes quick and intuitive.
is cherry trying to convince people to have period sex?
No.
Cherry is about choice, not pressure.
Some people love period sex. Some don’t. Some want the option without the mess. Others are curious but hesitant. Cherry exists to give people real options, not to tell them how to feel about their bodies, their cycles, or their sex lives.
If you want to have period sex, great. If you don’t, also great.
We’re here for the moments you choose.
who is cherry for?
Cherry is for anyone who:
Wants more control over their cycle
Is tired of planning intimacy around their period
Wants cleaner options without shame or secrecy
Believes period care and pleasure don’t have to live in separate worlds
You don’t need to be in a relationship. You don’t need to love period sex. You just need to want options.
why does this company exist?
Cherry exists because there’s a glaring gap between period care and intimacy — and no modern brand has stepped in to bridge it.
Every month, desire doesn’t disappear. But the products available to us act like it should.
We’ve been taught to wait, apologize, or work around our bodies instead of designing for them.
Cherry exists to change that.
Not by being loud or gimmicky, but by building care that’s thoughtful, body-aware, and honest. Products that acknowledge how real people live, love, and connect throughout their cycles.
Your body doesn’t need fixing. Your pleasure doesn’t need permission. And your period shouldn’t make intimacy feel complicated.
